Stuart S50 Steam Plant
« on: April 06, 2019, 07:54:32 am »
I got this from a retired engineer who was given it by an international engineering firm upon completion of a project at a paper mill.

A nice gift, that.

That is a Stuart steam plant to be proud of, for certain and for sure!

Really puts the S-50 into a natural setting and makes it look like the industrial beauty that it truly is!!!

Beautiful Plant!! Can you tell if the dynamo has been painted red or factory? Usually only see them in bare metal, but I see it still has the tag and actually looks quite good painted.

Great acquisition, Bob! You are indeed fortunate to add this steam plant to your collection. I also really like the feed water pre-heater.

Thanks for showing it!

From what I can tell. It"s factory. I'll try to get a really close photo.

Can't get a photo of the dynamo just now. But it's definitely factory-painted.

That is very interesting Bob as mine and all that I have seen in the past have been bare metal.

I'll trade my retirement plaque for that! Should have asked for an engine.

There are a couple of tiny chips in the paint, revealing bare metal, but if the builder painted it he did so by disassembling everything first. No runs, smears, overspray, paint ridges that I can see.
