Weeden No. 3 Shaft (Double Lineshaft)
« on: October 21, 2020, 11:50:11 am »
Have always wanted one of these, but wanted to wait for a reasonably priced one in good shape. Most of it is typical Weeden, thin tin base, rough cast pulleys, but the uprights are very heavy/sturdy cast... for a toy, I am impressed!

Congratulations Nick! These Weeden high shafts are a treat, very rare, and very well built

One of my favorite Weeden accessories Nick.

Looking forward to seeing how you put it to work.

Actually just wanted to see @Nick - thanks for posting great photos of yours.

The one I have one of the wheels were busted to its hub.  I was pretty sure the pulley was the same that would be on one of the ends of a No. 1 Line Shaft.  I have three of these #1s and one is a rusted mess - so I used it to get a pulley to transplant to the No. 3 Line Shaft.  Not exactly easy to pull off as they are soldered onto the shaft.  I practice on one side (epic fail) but was able to get the other side off to transfer.

Of course Charlie / @txlabman has three of them :p
