Well, Nick was at it again, we stayed for clean up after the show this past weekend. Nick is the hardest worker there, they are lucky to have him. I claim old age for not getting in the firebox, although I did pull ash and punch the tubes on 4 of them.
I fired for Nick as he ran a big 30 hp twin cylinder Minneapolis on the sawmill. She was a brute. We also drove the Minneapolis thru the parade.
We need a couple more of you to attend the May steam school next year, then work the August show.

Bonjour,
Thanks to steam, there are no more white or black people, just "need a shower" ones

Was great to have you there Jeff!! Your help is greatly appreciated, many like to play, but not too many stay to help… There are some very good/hard workers that keep the place going, I don’t deserve the credit for that.

C’mon up Charlie
@txlabman

Here’s the big Minnie that Jeff and I got to play on (Engine #6741 from late 1911, one of the last five doubles they made)

Honestly, one of the BEST paying jobs out there!! Where else can you get the experience to jump around engine to engine playing all weekend??
I told Jeff that I would send him some pictures from Gary Yaeger’s collection of the Minneapolis, but thought others might enjoy them, so I’ll post them here… We lost Jerred and Eileen in February, but are very fortunate that Jerred arranged for many engines to remain for all to enjoy… Thank you Jerred and Eileen, the show wasn’t the same without you…
From Gary’s post:
Jerred and Eileen Ruble with the 30 hp double
cylinder, double countershaft Minneapolis he bought
from the Tyler's at Moore, Montana. I skipped school
in 1958 to watch it plowing on the Tyler farm. Mom
had to go see our principal. She was furious. Dad had
a look of "proud" on his face.
