A friend did it for me, the firebox was pretty scratched so he brushed it with a stain I believe. He also nickel plated the boiler.

A very nice plant there Bill  :)

I really like the firebox as well... 
Think i´ll try experimenting a bit with some gun bluing and a slight polish, to see if a similar look can´t be reached.
