Running hits and miss model on propane...setup.
« on: May 06, 2019, 08:35:32 am »
Hi,
I would like to give this a try. I saw a video ( Gil's) with a regulator, but could not find it. I was wondering if anyone would experience running model hit and miss with propane could suggest what parts are appropriate/available. Thanks.

Hi  Len,  Clif Roemmich made the demand regulator that I use most of the time. I think it uses a Wisconsin fuel pump diaphram. I believe there are plans available on line.

Here are a couple videos.

I made a simple propane mixer to use with the demand regulator.

I experimented with different fittings and lengths until it ran the engine nicely.

Enjoy!

Gil

In this film, the original mixer is lowered and the needle valve opened several turns
and the air inlet is mostly blocked by the choke plate.

Here I am using the new makeshift mixer...

Hi Gil,
Thanks. Yes one of these must be the one I had previously seen.  I will give this  method a try when I get back to it. Although I am quite impressed with Christians posted solution.
