It was a real treat to see and get running this 1890's A J Weed Gas Engine.
This is only the second example I have ever seen. Arthur J Weed produced these
in the early to mid 1890's before he was associated with Parsell and Weed.
He also published a book that covered most all you need to know to build gas engines including formulas for proper design.
Given that just about everyone wanting to build gas engines back then wanted a copy of this book... It has been said the book was likely a much better seller than this very rare 1/2 hp gas engine.

You can open this pdf and pages 19-26 cover this early gas engine.

lovely,  I have never seen one run before.  Seems to run better than its "improved" later Parsell & Weed.

Thanks for the post!

I hope Jin has seen this video ... wouldn't it be cool if he made one up like this!?!?
"Information is not knowledge, Knowledge is not wisdom, Wisdom is not truth, Truth is not beauty, Beauty is not love, Love is not music: Music is THE BEST...
Wisdom is the domain of the Wis (which is extinct). Beauty is a French phonetic corruption of a short cloth neck ornament currently in resurgence..."
F. Zappa ... by way of Mary, the girl from the bus.
