Bonjour Tony,
My plug gap about 1 mm, I will shorten it again. Do you think it has an impact on the speed of the engine ? Can you change the speed of your engine ? Is it faster than mine ? Do uou change the setting of the needle valve when your engine becomes warmer ?

Bonjour Raphael,

Don't repeat bending the outer spark plug electrode Raphael - it might fatigue and break off. It is very small and you might have to wait a long time for a new one to come from China. You obviously have a good enough spark because the engine runs well now.

On engine speed - I have experimented with removing one of the governor springs on my M90 engine. I could slow it down quite well by doing that, but eventually, the engine stopped on the compression stroke when the energy in the flywheel was too small to compress the fuel air mixture. There are other threads about reducing the compression ratio. Redryder has done this. I do not have the machinery or the skill to attempt that kind of work.

Your governor system is different on the M92 model. There are threads here about shortening the flyball governor spring on the M92. I can not advise you, but it is obvious that you could shorten the spring too much and then not have a spring that was usable any longer.

This video is shows my engine running about as slowly as I could make it run. Any slower and it would stop.

Bonjour Tony,
Many thanks for your accurate reply.
Your M90 runs quite well gently, and we can actually hear its hit & miss process. I thought mine is a little bit too slow because I do not hear the hit & miss process like your one.
Never mind, as it runs, I do not touch to anything now, especially the plug because I agree with you, not obvious to find another one if I break it.

They are available, but it will take time to make its way across the planet to you in France.

Bonjour Tony,
I order sometimes in China or in Europe, I confirm, I have to be VERY patient... :( but it is so convenient and cheap...
and for fun, scale 1 Hit & Miss engines are also very sensitive to settings :

D'avance Merci. Amicalement Christian.

So, for the candle, it is around the thickness of a nail or 0.4 to 0.5mm
For the needle yes approx 1/4 of an opening turn, to be adjusted during operation.
the fuel, I use Aspen synthetic gasoline, its going great it's for brushcutters mowers etc.
I received this engine this summer, it started by hand on the first test.
I intend to improve it like my M90, bronze bearings, grease nipples, tank support, exhaust and wooden base with LED indicator.
You master English, would you like to translate all of this and put it below for the members of the forum?
Thanks in advance. Sincerely Christian.

Christian, I have to confess that I regularly use  Google traduction  ;)
And the needle valve you made for my m91 is very helpful because the original one is too small in diameter to my opinion.

Hi Raphael
Voici le site d'un fabriquant des US avec des bougies de très bonne qualité
Avec mon modèle M90, aucun problème avec cette bougie + l'essence Aspen.
Here the US webside of very good quality sparkplugs.
No problem with my M 90 engine and this sparkplug + Aspen fuel.
