I got this engine new from Bob Bishop at the Coolspring Power Museum show in June.
On it's first run, after I got it going for a quick test, I forgot there was no coolant and ran it long enough to ruin the O-ring.
I won another in an ebay auction and had Jin add a couple extra O-rings in the box for it. Fast forward, I got a little free time to replace the O-ring in the first one and give it a good test... with coolant this time! I used distilled water and emptied it afterward. I also inspected the bore and it was still perfect.
SPS Bruce did a great job modifying the generator. It has a longer shaft with a 5 stepped pulley on both sides so can be used as a line shaft to drive other accessories. He also installed ball bearings and a power switch, all adding up to make a great and useful generator.
Below is a short video of a short run.
You will see the 352X bulb burn out on the #15.
I replaced it with a #14 which is a much stouter bulb
Enjoy,
Gil
