Tom, thanks for the information. When I got my first engine I assumed that it was a Halls effect based on what I had read from others. When a Halls fails it is normally from overvoltage/current so I reduced the number of batteries to 2. I never really tore my engine apart to check it. When it runs I don't mess with it.
