Hi all,
With a new phone I have been experimenting with slo-motion feature. Interesting what you can discern a little easier when things are slowed down. Including a stubborn globule of oil!

Hi Len,

That is really interesting, like you say amazing how much one can see like that, inc the intake valve  ;)

Kind regards

Hi Len,....Amazing how slo-mo reveals so much event detail !....Looks like the exhaust valve Latched-out lift could be increased to near peak camshaft lift to reduce miss cycle cylinder vacuum to eliminate or reduce the observed intake valve off-seat "wiggle" during the miss cycles without disturbing the current intake valve spring pressure...Regards, ...tom.

Hi All,
Thanks for looking and feedback. Yes I think exhaust timing could be involved also. Still I am thinking a little more tension on intake spring as it is light to touch.

Stiffer spring seems to be an improvement, also reduced 1/4 needle valve air inlet to 1/8 inch. Now seems to get a positive report on each snort.

That looks better Len, was it the carb bore you reduced from 1/4 to 1/8?

Yes. Restricting air intake with finger showed better running. Used a drilled out a set screw make adjustment. I was able to it lean it down quite a bit afterwards.

Doug,
Do you have this model? It is a inch bore with a steel frame. I only saw a batch of 3 three made like this, Herb had a neighbor weld them up. None of the six you got from me is an exact match. Wondering if you mean familiar in as "Its a Herb" (Yes ) or if you have one of the other two?
