I have that engine. I doubt it will run on 6v. I use a 10ah 12v  scooter battery for most of my engines and run them all on Napthe (coleman fuel) with wd40 4 oz to 1 gal of fuel and do not use the drip oiler. This was recommended to me my an old timer when i first started collecting ic engines and i have never had a problem. You can still use a drip oiler as well- i just forget to turn them off when done running and end up flooding the cylinder with oil.
These engines will run very very slow when adjusted right. I have run mine all day at shows and never put water in the hopper, as these scale engines mostly don't get that hot if they are set up properly.
