Advlce please on how to proceed
« on: June 29, 2019, 12:23:38 pm »
Advice please as how to proceed as given this today and not done any restoration work before ?

Not sure which button to choose for uploading pictures - all new to me so I used end of post expandable thumb nail but looks a bit small ?

Says WILESCO on label. Damage to the top platform bit on left hand side.

Looks like you are only missing the weight. I think it's supposed to be 25 grams. You could probably make one with fishing weights but you can find replacements on eBay. Or so as I did... I just bought off eBay the spring type pressure valve. Yours probably takes the earlier threads (Interestingly, I have the weight but not the lever.)

Make sure you don't use hot water to clean the paint. Too much hot water or too much dishsoap will lift the paint. I recommend a little soap and a dishrag and lukewarm water to clean. Then clean rinse. I use a little bit of mineral oil on a dry rag to protect any rusty parts.

Thanks reply.

Having had a good look at it and sourcing parts, etc, I have decided to stick with my new builds as opposed to restorations.

For certain another member will appreciate  it.

Thanks
