Wilesco D10 1960s?
« on: June 05, 2022, 05:05:01 pm »
Here is the Wilesco boiler that was in box of rusty chisels at an auction along with the MarvinInd horizontal engine.  Grandson took it home to clean it up and we fired it yesterday.  Only fuel I could think of was a gel-type hand cleaner (70% ehtyl alcohol). It steamed fine, but not sure if that type of fuel will do harm to the parts.  Grandson would like some help finding the missing parts.  Think I can get new replacements from a US based supplier for around $70, but the centrifugal governor is listed as "out-of-stock".  E-bay search is no help unless ordered from UK or Germany. Also, just under the oil filler is a glob of what appears to be JB-Weld, and seems a pipe is missing, guessing that be the condensate drain and would simply terminate at the drip tray.  If I can get the parts for him we'll only have about $75 or so in it, considering it isn't rare or valuable, he thinks we could disassemble and do a repaint, and not ruin it's future value.  Any thoughts or cautions we need to be aware of?  Thanks.
