Back from weekend hunt
« on: September 05, 2021, 12:18:54 pm »
Was lucky this weekend and got 2 nice Verticals for only 60 $
Both need some cleaning and repl. Gaskets but are almost complete
with Burner and Chimney. Plank made very nice engines. The bigger one
has a Nameplate "Cosmos" and an instruction sheet.
Enjoy, Arnold ;D

...and I thought I had had a great weekend. Obviously you know how to spend the weekends even better.👍

The machines look very good. I'm already looking forward to the refurbished engines.
Cheers
Jürgen

Nice finds.  Plank did make nice engines. The price was excellent.
Cheers Bob, I collect mostly German steam stationary engines.

Had to make a new mushroom for the Plank Burner - size is nearly 1 inch in dia.
I made it from solid brass bar and the 9 wholes are 1 mm. Now it works like new.
I could easily polish but I like more the original patina.
Further i have to make a new lead weight and a new sight glass. The next burner
for a Bing NORA is also waiting for refurbishing.
Have a nice Day, Arnold ;D

Awesome job on the burner fix Arnold.

I understand that some folks make these out of old brass door knobs.
