Bing vertical 130/863
« on: March 31, 2022, 07:16:57 am »
Got this nice little Bing today. New for me is this kind
of sight glass. The engine runs both directions and has
a steam valve. The burner has two wicks and is of simple art.
It came complete with cup, funnel and instruction manual.
I already made a steam test - all perfect.
Have a nice day, Arnold ;D

Very nice. Ernst Plank also used this type of sight glass on some of their early engines. You are lucky it is well sealed--they are a nightmare to remove and reseal if leaking.

I'll bet that site glass would be hard to redo, very lucky indeed.
A very nice engine and a smooth runner. Congratulations Arnold.

Never seen a Bing with that sight glass, hope it stays sealed for you  ;)

Chunky looking cylinder and the steam valve is a bonus not on many of the smaller engines. It sure is nice to have, not only for speed control, but you can add oil mid-steaming too. Good looking base color too  8)
