This was the second day of the Coolspring engine show. Yesterday, I bought an early-model hit and miss engine, an Ervin. It was in unknown, as-is condition, but I had it running today, and hope to get a video and some pictures tomorrow.
Today, I bought this little governed steam engine. The governor is built inside the 2" diameter flywheel, and it maintains a steady rpm by changing the valve timing. It is a rather unique engine, and runs very well on steam, and the governor seems to work quite well. I have no idea as to who the maker is or the age of this engine. There are still three days of the Coolspring show, so hopefully there will be a few more finds.
