Unknown British Model Steam Engine
« on: March 23, 2021, 07:12:55 am »
Hi Guys.

A recent ebay auction win a rather unusual little model steam engine.

I believe that it is of British manufacture but not sure if it was commercially made or scratch built.

Any help in identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Alan that is an interesting little engine. Sorry but I've never seen one like it before.
Interesting how the cylinder and flywheel stand offs are mounted to the boiler like that.
Maybe it was a kit. Have you steamed it yet? That's what we want to see

Hey Alan, I still don't know what that is other than a a cute little steam engine, but I have noticed
something about your safety valve. You don't have one that I can see. You should find one that will fit
where one of those two plugs are. Dang it, I want to see it run, get a valve.

Interesting setup
But to my eyes the contraption at the end opposite the engine could be the Safety valve .
A rather odd way to attach engine frame

I noticed that one but then I thought that was a plug someone made using the base of a SV and putting
a screw in it, to stop any leaking. Won't know until we can see the other end of it.
It is a cool engine isn't it Dennis.

Believe it or not that screw sticking up from the end of the boiler is in fact a safety valve. I will be doing a video on it and hopefully show it running after I've given it a bit of a clean up.

Cheers, Alan.
