Very clever dent removal that could be used for boiler repairs.
The large steel ball and magnet was uber clever -

Pretty impressive .... and I even liked his backbeat!

Wisdom is the domain of the Wis (which is extinct). Beauty is a French phonetic corruption of a short cloth neck ornament currently in resurgence..."

I watched the entire video with fascination, a few things occurred to me ,1. that was sure a lot of work for what looked like a run of the mill tuba. 2.that brass really is thin. 3.whomever owned must have been a boy between the ages of 10-14 yrs old and 4.....they sure knew what they were doing, not at all gentle with it...but certainly got the job done as part of they're everyday work.

Bruce - I had the same thoughts.  I was waiting to see him break thru the brass, with as creased and wrinkled as it was.  A lot of just brute strength and persistence.  I was surprised that the magnet had enough pull to allow the ball to do some smoothing.  At least he was "honest" at the end and (even tho it had come a long way) you could still see where the wrinkles were.

When I started the video, I wasnt expecting to watch the whole thing... but I did.

Thanks for finding and posting Jim!!

Check the cost of a new tuba and you'll quickly see why the fellow spent so much time on a "run of the mill" tuba. There's a great deal of skill involved here, too.

As for the dent balls and other techniques, I've used some of them them successfully on my sousaphone, though I'm nowhere near as good as the video guy.
