Positive side is springtime and construction workers and farmers are very busy. Flowers blooming and lawn mowers are running. My immediate neighbors seem healthy .
Negative side is robbery and some criminal activity in urban areas up 20%. Gangs are wearing medical style face mask and rushing businesses to rob and loot. Gangstas are open firing in many driveby shootings in what is normal revenge kills. Social justice community activist are asking for more early release from jails and are questioning if the virus is racist. Today a USPS mail truck was hijacked at gunpoint.
State Health officials are saying the next week may be the pandemic surge. Several nursing homes have been hard hit with 15-20 workers infected and several patients deceased.National Guard has been called and US Army Corp of Engineers is converting some local motels to extra hospital beds. Several law enforcement and many public transit drivers have tested positive. A school bus driver helping give food to kids died of the virus. Next 10 days will be interesting . One final sign of hope is that 40 infected patients who had been hospitalized were allowed to go home today.
