I wish there was a bit more common sense involved in this protest. It is awful being out of work, but it ain't so great taking a life-robbing easily transmittable virus to my mother or grandmother. Having a tantrum won't make this go away any quicker, only safe practices.
I like the old Thomas Paine version of Common Sense and The Rights of Man.
Perhaps you are aware that some of the news stories, like the one Jim referenced , are heavily biased and do not contain the complete reasons for those peaceful and orderly protest?  Imagine if you took your mom and grandmother on Easter Sunday to attend a religious service in the parking lot of a church. Stayed in the car . Then you and your family was arrested and jailed as criminals ?  Or maybe mom and grandma buy seeds for their garden and get thrown in jail for disobeying an order of the governor. . Or maybe your mom wants to have her hair done but the mayor forbids it (the same mayor thenhypocritically goes out to her own hair stylist). What if some authoritarian politician was seeking media attention, grandstanding, and even pursues higher political office and forbade your mom and grandmother from getting a valid medical prescription from their family doctor ? Or forbade you to go visit them at their house under penalty of arrest?  Would it be a “tantrum” to stand peacefully in protest and remind the media and government that you are willing to work together but you do not want be deemed criminals by an overly zealous authoritarian regime. Ok, so maybe your mom and grandma wouldn’t do serious jail time. Maybe some “re-education” camp for the old folks. Common Sense Camp in iron letters over the entry gate. Re-education work camps are quite popular in some parts of the world.
I live near Ferguson,  Missouri. I have seen how outright media lies and a radical government agenda can set an American city on fire. I have seen rioters (aka protesters) loot , burn, and threaten the innocent.
I truly wish this horrid plague does not drive us further into anarchy .
I don't mean to bust your b#lls on this thread. Just trying to show what’s missing in biased news propaganda. God Bless you for taking care of your mom and grandmother, I wish mine were still around.

To my knowledge, no arrests are being made in my area for doing any of those things, and in fact quite The opposite. Churches were encouraged to have drive thru services. I have already been to purchase my spring plantings and seeds(no police involved), and at least one barber shop is opening in defiance of the DoH order to close.
These clowns were just rubbing around in each other scream spittle. Hard pass, thanks.
