Curiosity - Tachometer Steamship "Zürich"
« on: March 21, 2021, 04:24:15 am »
Good Sunday morning to ALL - Have a Curiosity to look at:

This is the real tachometer from the Steam ship Town off Zürich.
When the ship was modernized I could save the trip counter from scrapping.
It has been cut out from the sheet metal wall.
The friction wheel touched the crankshaft and indicated the number of revolutions. I use a small electric motor with a gearbox to drive it.

Enjoy, Arnold

You did well to save the tachometer. I think the idea of giving the part a function again by means of an electric motor and gearbox is very good. ::)
Cheers

Thank you Raphael for the informations - I have checked some movies and websites
also yours from the model club. I live in the opposite Side of Switzerland on
Lake of Constanze and Gerald/Gilbert in the French Region. I have seen movie pictures from "le lac de joux"
wich is very close to France.
Bonne nuit et meilleurs salutations de la Suisse allemande, Arnold
