David Auld SE3
« on: December 26, 2021, 10:56:40 pm »
Now some may be familiar with David Auld steam engines
The small vertical is a SE3 he made blue (about 150 ) Red ( about 50 ) and 3 green .
Now i am in contact with some one who has Davids shed contents.
I have been  helping to get some things completed.
Some will remember i made some wheels and trailer parts .
Now i am working on assembling the SE3
I have been sent 4 sets of parts and 3 bases .
Three boilers had been painted dark green ( which i do not like )
And one is plain metal .
I get to keep one for my work .
It was discussed and agreed the plain brass/copper would look good on a stainless base .
A pile of parts

Two dark green assembled boiler/firebox and more paint

My one stripped of dark green and repaint John Deere green

Now the special plain brass and copper on a stainless base

Hopefully tomorrow they will undergo a steam run
The 2 dark green are for sale as is the stainless

Cheers

Hello Dennis,
I like your work. I especially like the unpainted one. I think the different bare metals look very good together.
Cheers

Dennis:

Are any of these going to be offered for sale?

I am very interested.

You did a really nice job on these!

You may not know that I own one of a couple of the large steam boat that David produced.  Mine is unfired and complete.

I think I showed it before.

I bought it from Bruce in 2019.  He found it at a pedal car show while on vacation in Tennessee.

Here is the link when Bruce offered it for sale.
