Do you ever have one of those steam ups when .......
« on: August 20, 2020, 09:20:25 pm »
Do you ever have one of those steam ups when you think -

"Where are the hidden cameras"?
"Am I being punked"?
"Are you seriously having a lend of me"?

If anything can go wrong, its going to. Steam lines leaking, fix those and an 'O' ring goes, fix that and something else breaks or comes loose.
Get everything sorted and sit back and then run out of gas, metho or some other calamity happens......anything but peaceful and relaxing!

Please tell me its just not me and its not just bad karma from some previous misspent life :)

If you really want to have some fun (problems), try running two or three engines at once  :D

Sometimes it’s best to blow out the flame and walk away

No sympathy for self inflicted pain, running multiple engines and filming them is just begging for the Irish law to intervene. :D :D

I have had a multitude of issues when trying to film my engines...for example, I film with my cell phone & get a call or text, the air conditioner/heater blower comes on, the neighbors dog goes into his need for constant attention & goes on a 30 minute barking session, I loud Harley rolls by, a farm tractor goes by, my wife interrupts my photo shoot by walking through the door & asking questions on the way in (she's much better about this now) ,the photo shoot lighting goes dead, the cell phone battery goes dead, & then we get into all the problems a steam engine will display at the exact wrong time.

Try filming with a 3 and 5 year old running around above you in a 100 year old house  :D  I usually wait till they’re in bed now.

Along with the furnace, I’ve got an old, noisy freezer and a sump pump that I usually unplug for the 20 minutes or so of filming.
