D & Co 46 1/2 Steam Engine
« on: January 28, 2022, 07:44:06 pm »
Does anyone have information on a D & Co 46 1/2 vertical steam engine?  Any information about the company, where it was made, when, etc.?

Guessing 46 1/2 might be a casting number on the base and not the actual model number? Pictures would help  ;)  Welcome to the forum  :)

Dunbar Engines were marked D & Co
I've not seen a vertical however.
A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked just fine.

So, it is Doll and Co, Made in Germany. Probably Pre-War.

Thank you so much for the information.  Any ideas on web sites for more information about it?  I am new to the game so another question; is there a source for the sight glass tube which is missing.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

"Rusty" try this website called Historytoy - there you will find exactly the same engine. The glass can be
order by mail in Germany - all you have to do is give him exact measurements - the cost is about $15
Wellcome to the forum, Arnold (picture below some of my verticals) ;D
