Are you a Steamer, a Fiddler or a Fiddling Steamer?
« on: July 29, 2024, 01:33:36 am »
Lately, every time I setup to steam an engine there's one or more problems that cause to me end up 'fiddling' and repairing and then I go down the rabbit hole of 'modifying' and days later and hours and hours in my shed I'm back to getting ready to steam the engine and the accessory.
So I'm definitely in the category of 'Fiddling Steamer' .

I fiddle around whenever I need to, which is somewhere between often and all the time. So, I guess I'm a fiddlin' steamer too.

Absolutely love the video that Raphael has shared here of someone fiddling around with a hydroplane, something that I did once a long time ago, though not in such a perfectly classical sense as that shown in the video!

I'm definitely a "fiddling steamer" I rarely leave well enough alone, there is ALWAYS something that can be done to improve things, I just hope for the wisdom to let some things be.

Steam Hoarder (per my wife) and a mechanic. I am mainly an "Airer" (running steam engines on air).
