Partially Restored Stuart Steam Plant
« on: April 15, 2025, 02:03:55 pm »
Thought I'd share a couple of pictures of the Stuart steam plant that I started to restore but never finished. I got the clean and paint bit done but still needs a makeup water tank and a burner plus TLC in the way of gaskets and adjustments for use with steam. It's the latest of my closet cleaning crusade.          [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Thanks, originally I intended to completely finish it with makeup water tank and a burner but other things took priority. I've still got four or five more unfinished projects that I'll be lucky if I get done. Should have started steaming when I was young.

Larry

Nice work Larry.

Have you steamed it yet?

No, it has only been run on air.  At some point the desire and time to finish it went away and it was time to move on. I find that not having anyone to pass steam engines on to has affected me to some extent but still look forward to a couple of upcoming projects - but this just wasn't one of them.

This is nice!

Love Stuart stuff.  Good work on cleaning it up.

I really wish you were closer Larry, would love to stop by and enjoy some steam-ups with you! My brief visit wasn’t enough…
