Empire No.46 and No.92 "Play Boy"
« on: April 24, 2023, 05:19:31 pm »
I got in my Empire No. 46 and No.92 "Play Boy" from eBay.

The #46 was pretty much plug up and play, though I did undo the sight glass as it was clogged pretty bad (I need to sort out a seal for it).

The No.92 "Play Boy" need more attention as it was very nasty, the power cord was shot, and one of the heater connection wires was severed off the blanket.  I used my "Part / Sale item is called: 110V 380W Injected Mould Heating Element Band Heater 35x35mm 2pcs" that I was using for one of my B-31's that I ended up not needing, since I got a donor heater for that engine.  The No.92 and B-31 heater is pretty much the same setup and it fit perfectly.  Though I think it may be a bit to powerful for the No.92 "Play Boy" as the tank is somewhat shorter and not as thick of material.  Basically it runs like a banshee!  On the luck side, I didn't need to take apart the sight glass and it only leaks a little.

Oh, I have no idea what that wire loop is for on the this No.92.  It seems original to me... I can use it for a panic/hard stop but that seems silly to me.
