Boiler Dryer!
« on: December 15, 2024, 08:20:50 pm »
I got new goodies in the mail today, including my air pump with chrome manifold. It only pumps to 5psi but I’m only using this to dry my boilers and engines.

Demonstrated below you’ll see it going into the boiler. I have the valves on the plant set to expel the air through the blowdown port & steam line.

Looks good Travis, 5psi should be able to spin a few fine tuned engines flywheels.

Slowly but surely… and I’ve added a ton more tools to my collection. Under the desk I have 3 drawers full of “Steam stuff” and tools, belting, stuff like that… and 4 other Steam plants on another desk.    I have to find a way to make more room for future projects. If I can make 2 Steam plants a year minimum by the time I’m 50 I’ll have about 50 Steam plants.  Which isn’t a problem to me.  Lol.

Anyways, thanks for the advice on using an air pump for boiler drying!!  This really is a fantastic idea.

That is one elaborate looking steam engine.

Nice job!
