Today my hot air engine from the 2022 Cabin Fever Auction arrived.  I was unable to attend this year, but purchased this at the online auction.  Gil was kind enough to pick it up at the auction and after some delay due to Gil's having to move to a new home in the midst of everything, I finally get to see it for the first time in person!

I'm pretty sure it is hand-built and not a factory model, but very well made.  It stands about 18" high, 8" diameter, and has a water-cooled jacket for the cylinder with a pump.  It also has a custom-made alcohol burner.  Since the burner is non-adjustable, it has a small flame, which takes forever to heat up the cylinder for the engine to start working.  But once it is there, it runs at a nice realistically-slow and steady speed. 

It is extremely well-made, with lots of rivets.  I have no way of knowing the age, but my guess would be 70 to 100 years old???   Maybe older?? 

Wow Doug, you scored big time on that one. That runs so smooth and quiet for it's age.
I can only hope that I can make it to that age let alone run so good.
