Graham Ind. No longer making Steam engines/kits

I just finished building a Graham Ind. VR1A kit yesterday & when I went back to their site I saw this ...

 We have been in business since the 1980's.  However, we had a major equipment failure with our manufacturing equipment and will no longer be able to produce our steam engine kits.  Thank you for your business over the years.

That's a real shame as the TVR1ABB is one of the nicest engine kits out there - maybe they still have a few in stock. [ After checking they don't seem to have any inventory which is surprising. That seems to leave Chiltern as the only source for interesting engine kits for me. ]

I suspect I may have gotten the last engine from them , my wife bought it several weeks ago and Robert Graham sent us an email stating that he would send it soon (8 days later) it arrived 9 days after that , I just put it together Christmas evening. I had also sent an inquiry to Graham ind. When I bought Larry's TVR1ABB but never heard back...then a few days ago a new crank in a box appears in the mailbox , no message , no invoice....he just sent it to me.

    That is really a shame, some of the first engines I bought were GI, that I built from kits. I still hoped to get one of the scotch yoke engines someday. Well, the only positive is that they will now probably increase in value, but far better if they were still making them, very well-made engines at affordable prices.

That is a shame, very good engines.
I've enjoyed building all of his designs over the the last few years and I would check the site from time to time just in case a new item was added.
Very sad to see them go.

My first engine (of my own) was a VR1A and just bought a TVR1A that I was hoping to spruce up with the brass bolt kit, flywheel, and BB conversion! I would love to reach out to him to see if there are any residuals that he wouldn't mind selling. I've even got 2 sets of VOSC and HOSC machining kits that I have only partially started. It's too bad to hear they are stopping production, but their work will continue to be cherished! If anyone has flywheels, or bolt kits laying around, shoot me a message haha!

Anton has stopped his production in France, now Graham... Not easy for steam passionates who have to buy...
Graham was also well known and appreciated n France, I have ha to get the opportunity to get a BB :

That’s realy too bad those looked like nice models. There is a lot of stuff coming over on the container ships. I don’t know about quality, but the two steam turbines I have coming have dinky shafts so I’m goigbto replace them right away before something gets wrecked. They run abou 40 to 50k rpm just keeping a belt on might be a problem. I do have spring bels too nut indont want a flywheel turning 50 gan racing across the floor. LOL it hard to just find a shaft coupler. I had planned on making a special one but much prefer commercial one.

I had planned to buy a TVR1A this year. Already have a VR1A. Guess that won't happen now.

Technically I could make engines like this as I have all the required machines (CNC lathe, CNC mill, fiber laser cutter) but I doubt the effort to set up production would be worth it.

I would contact them and see if they would be willing to sell you the program  , rights ...or both.
