Looks like a "Treasure Trove" of sight glass fittings for the right person or collection.

Putting any of those in a trash can would be paramount to criminal waste, so please tell me that J/K means Just Kidding!

I talked to Frank and he told me that old style glass tube is:

"Originally it would have been a 1/8 OD tube, fitted between the tops of the ports, a common fix is to drill out the port so a longer tube will fit into port same as later models. Seals cut from silicone tubing should work for either."

I think I'll be going the "drill out the port" route, so a longer tube can be installed..  It will be tricky with this soft metal fitting and I might actually talk myself out of doing it.  But I am all out of small glass tubing.  If it isn't one thing, its another - I knew I should have bought a larger amount of tubes a year ago!

Well, not sure what my brother was thinking I told him it was soft metal and to be careful with the heat/flame.

Epic Fail

This is a question regarding the 'sightglass' fitting that you
posted a photo of.  It is in two pieces, the fitting and a nut(?)
of some sort.  I have a Weeden 34 and those two pieces match the
lower steampipe fitting.  How did you get those two pieces apart?
And, are they that melted mess later in the thread?

The nut just screwed off by hand as far as I know.  Yes, that is either the one I got off eBay or the one he already had.

I wonder how Weeden got these on the tank without melting them!
