In my last post, Stoker mentioned the modularity concept . As I will show here , I am a fan of modularity . These pictures will show what I call the modular mounting system (MEM system) , which allows for quick easy mounting of engines to my big steam plant. I also have another large P M Research steam plant that they fit on the same way. ( one of these days I will show you that ) . They can also be hooked up to the rest of my boilers just as easily . Have a look .

No doubt about it ... that is one slick set-up to mate different engines to a master boiler!
No matter how many times I read my posts for editing purposes, I always miss something . I intended to write modular engine mounting system (MEM system) .
Very clever system... Quality work showing great attention to detail, as well.
Thanks for posting!
Very cool! Did you consider starting the plumbing hook up locations as well? I am in the process of planning out just my boiler at the moment, but thinking a modular system where I can still run hardlines would be pretty darn ideal. Thinking flange unions or just PMR unions for both supply and return lines.
I use PMR unions on dedicated hard lines for several engines, others I can use a rubber hose with a PMR union on one end. All of the hard lines are bent to perfectly connect up to the steam supply. I use slip on rubber hoses for all the exhaust lines . As I wrote earlier, I have another 100% PMR steam plant with a vertical boiler and a dedicated no.3 engine , with a station that accepts these same stand alone engines perfectly . It took a bit of planning and several dollars worth of PMR fittings .
