How many versions of Weeden 647?

Well I’ve already acquired three of these and all three have different heating units. Any ideas about how many there might be?

The Weeden 647 was only produced for 6 years (from 1927-1933).  I haven't come across any discussions about a  bunch of variations, (and I don't own one yet; but I do have a very nice Weeden 648).  Here is the description from Ken Trobaugh's Weeden Book.  This book is still available on a memory stick.  It is the best reference work on all things Weeden.

Thanks for the information. One of my engines has a resistance wire coil in a ceramic holder that is screwed to the frame. The second one has the same type setup but seems to clip in somehow (I’m trying to figure it out). This one has a sheet metal shield around the prongs the cord plugs into. The third one is a piece of sheet metal wrapped around some sort heating element. It is bent to follow the form of the boiler. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t work.

To add to the confusion several years ago it was possible to purchase a third party replacement unit.
