Steam Turbine - Home Made and first Air Test
Really enjoyed this making this DIY steam turbine. Extremely loud running at 60 psi and I made the fan that runs on a steel axle and bearings from a hefty piece of brass and the fan blades from a heavy gauge copper so there is a fair bit of weight when its spinning.

Great sound to that one  8)

I like your heavy duty hose clamp too  :D  Always a fun scramble when a line blows off at high psi  :D

Looked everywhere to take one off something else Nick and couldn't find one so the vice was the next best thing. There was some air leakage though from it being squashed :)

The big dog has had enough 'turbine' noise for today or I'm gonna' have to give him a Valium.

Nicely balanced at speed. For a DYI, it seems that would be the hard part.

Nicely done Jim , seems well balanced (as stated prior) and very nicely presented. The real fun of a turbine is the "spooling up" & yours does that with ease 😄.
Well done that.

Thanks all, its a pretty simple design the internal spinning fan, even at 120 psi there is zero vibration -
