Below you will see photos of this amazing model after I spent more than 12 hours hand polishing it.

Also included is a video of an air test after I got it unstuck.

Enjoy!

Gil

An amazing machine crafted by an amazing machinist.

I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time with Don.

Thank you for posting the video and the great pictures.

A couple questions:

Will it pump water?

Has it ever been fired?

Is this one for your personal collection or will it be offered for sale?

Thanks Gil!

Hi Charlie, This one stays in the Office of Steam on permanent display.

I will likely show it at Cabin Fever.

I don't know if it pumps water.

There is some evidence of flame fire inside and I suspect it was from a gas torch or burner because the coal grate has never seen any kind of heat.

Leaving the wet leg firebox unpolished bothered me enough that I set aside some tome this evening to get it done.

Here are some pictures.

I salute you sir.  The pumper is a true museum-quality work of art.  Amazing!

Even just having the patience to polish something for 12 hours is beyond me.  But if I had such a model I suppose love and devotion would give me the ambition to focus on such a task.
