Jensen #50 project. She is a beauty!
« on: January 18, 2022, 04:48:07 pm »
The Jensen #50 Restoration is pretty much done. I will paint the inside of the flywheel red. Do some final touch ups and she will be complete. Turned out so much better than I expected. Everything is working and she looks amazing.

I decided not to go back with the salmon color firebox and lite blue base. Instead she has a black firebox and dark blue base. I like it.

Tore her down, soaked everything, cleaned, scrubbed, polished, painted, reassembled with new gaskets, new power cord, three plug switch, new heater wires, and a lot of polishing.

One more beautiful #50 saved from the ashes to be enjoyed another 70 years.

Well, that sure did clean up nicely.  Well done.
A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked just fine.
