The Minor's base looks as small as a matchbox!
Don't know what kind of matchbox you are referencing here Jim, but the base of that L.E. Minor is substantially smaller than any matchbox I'm familiar with!
That base is only 1 1/4 x 3/4 x 3/8 inches, or a little smaller, which would make for some mighty short matches ..... probably burn your fingers trying to use them.
