Homemade Stuff , Stand Alone Engines
« on: March 11, 2023, 11:45:16 am »
If you have stand alone boilers, you must have engines to run with them. While these engines are not homemade, I did assemble some from kits and modify all of them. Some of these you have seen before , but here they are again . There is a Jensen 70 and 75 , a Wilesco D16 and 455 , Microcosm turbine and reduction gear and P M Research numbers 2 and 8. As you can see, the Jensen 70 has had some mods. done to it , with an exhaust system and strut brace added. Those model 70's are really messy to run , but exhaust plumbing really helps . I also added a lubrication port to the steam inlet. The 75 has the intake plumbing remodeled with a displacement lubricator installed in the steam line. Since I use P M Research Pipe unions on everything, I can use that steam line and lubricator on any of these engines. The Wilesco's are pretty much stock except for the mounting bases and plumbing. I assembled the PMR engines from kits. The steam turbine combo I have shown before in a separate post.
