Mamod SP2D (1332D) good/bad/ other?
« on: September 09, 2021, 11:59:33 am »
Just looking for opinions on this engine, I would like to know if it has any problem areas?
I like the larger flywheel and Dynamo hidden away....kind of wonder if heat may be a long term issue with the Dynamo in the base of chimney?
If you have one or are familiar with SP2D, I would love to know what you think of it!

One thing I Would like to do is get the lamp out of the chimney....maybe a model train lamp post or similar.

I once had one of these that I got for $22 or so on a cheap BIN. It was a fun runner but didn’t fit the collection

Thank you for your reply Nick, your SP2D runs more smoothly than some I have seen on YouTube...perhaps because you are not firing it So hard with your gas burner and maybe you did some tuning on it?
I certainly would have grabbed that pretty quick at $22!
  Enjoyed your video! -Ben
