Mamod Steam Lorry
« on: April 28, 2022, 11:38:52 am »
Heard a lot of bad Mamod Storys the recent days - but that was
not a reason to buy one that I was looking for since many years.
They often are on Ebay etc. but I never liked the price - till now.
US$ 95 seemed okay - only the sight glass, gasket and cover/screws
where missing. It looks like new and I do not think it was under fire
once. The Sight glass was easy to cut and for a gasket I took an 0-Ring.
The Cover then was machined from a brass bar of 2,5 thickness and then
2 Screws cut to correct length. The following test with Esprit tablets
ended with a big dang and a hot water fountain. The screw from the oscillating
cylinder flew away and so all other parts like the piston and the small spring.
After installing the screw correct the Lorry now works as it should....
The Sight glass is perfect - good looking - sturdy and tight.
Arnold ;D

Good one Arnold, you fixed a real nice lorry with a real nice site glass, great price too.
OH NO, I just watched your video. You going to have to take that glass off and turn it over.
The lorry is running backwards.
