Some months ago my friend Bill and I mailed a whole pile of Jensen parts to our friend Randy, chief engineer at the Southern Steam Works.

To say I am happy with this piece is an understatement to say the least.

Yes I am mightily chuffed...!!!

Below are pictures and a video of this newly created piece of hardware.

Enjoy,

Gil

Glad you are happy with it. Thanks too you and Bill for sending me the parts to build it from. It's fun and scary at same time to cut up original parts to modify and build something like this.

I know I've said it many times before, but I will definitely say it again... Randy, your work in both restorations and custom builds/mods is among the BEST! Very Nice Work!!  8)

that is an absolutely stunning & well crafted marriage of parts, the attention to detail is of the highest order & the combining of the 2 bases is seamless, well built Randy & congratulations Gil for acquiring such a fine piece. I particularly like how the curvature of the flywheel & the horseshoe generator compliment each other , makes me think of an industrial generating plant.

What a gorgeous finished product you have there Gil.  That design should have/could have been a Tom Sr. design...perfectly executed.  That #5 engine really drives the generator as seen in the bright lights.

Superb,
