Breaking down steam plants and modularizing systems seems like an excellent approach to maximizing adaptability so that different combinations of boilers, engines and accessories can be adjusted to best complement each other.

Really like how cleanly you have individualized your equipment!

I have a few stand-alone boilers and orphan engines myself and do have fun with some mix and match combos from time to time. Even did an STWWW thread on my Orphan Engines back a few years ago.
