Need help with Saito boiler parts
« on: May 24, 2020, 09:06:34 am »
My Saito B3 boiler has a rather complex steam regulator, which has four tiny "O" rings around a common shaft.(L3 and L4 in the picture)

Mine have hardened and are now leaking badly.
I've spent a week looking around far replacement "O" rings without any luck.

Any ideas where I can find Saito spares, please?

John

John, i have no parts supplier in mind, but would assume you simply could replace with standard o-rings?

The original Saito rings might well be a special rubber-blend for this specific use, but i find that standard o-rings holds up pretty well for quite some time, when used with other steamvalves like Wilesco and similar, before they start to crack.
(New ones, not old stock!)

Have you tried to call:

http://www.classicbirds.ch/

They come up as official importers of Saito in your "neighbourhood"  :)

You could, of course, use Viton rings; they're heat-resistant and not too expensive.

You don't need Saito parts; just measure the ID, OD, and thickness.

If you cannot find a local supplier, look at Amazon or eBay.
