New Arrival Maerklin 4098/92/8

Just arrived today a Maerklin 4098 - one of the latest in production
the platform is mottled light grey - black dynamo - and excellent condition
overall - sight glas and some other parts calcified - but easy to clean -
boiler has nice blue - and nothing to repair!!! Filling boiler and burner
and cylinder oil and it started after some minutes - great
maybe a video next days...

Very nice, but I believe you have a 4098  ;)

The dynamo cover on mine is cracking to pieces  :'(

sorry Nick - I have two 4058 - but this one is a 4098 - you are the BOSS
Zinc corrosion is well known on the Dynamo and Flywheels - i am happy
that my equipment is free of that destroyer

I believe someone in Germany was making replacement covers, but I would imagine they are costly.

Do you mean 4158? And 2?? I have none  :'(  :D

I have some salad of numbers today - you are right - I mean 4158
I have one with the 9 Boiler and the big one with the 11 Boiler

It’s definitely not easy to remember all these numbers, I have to look them up all the time to get them right.

You have a very nice collection, I am looking forward to seeing both of those as well  :)

The bluing on your new engine is very nice too  8)

I never have seen replacement covers in Germany - there have been complete Dynamo Replicas
in Switzerland made from Bronze - but extremely expensive.

Maybe the bronze ones are what I remember, it’s been quite a few years now... I would imagine they carry quite a price tag.
