Bing 13931 ships engine with 'geared' valve?

Bing 13931

This engine overseas caught my eye as it ticked off
two of my wants, a ships engine and simulated parquet
covered base.  Pretty rough.

It appears that the valve is gear driven, which would
be a first for me.
