Packing and Shipping -- Does Anyone Find This Irritating
« on: January 03, 2026, 07:08:02 pm »
Does this grind your gears?

For the umpteenth time, I've opened a parcel that came in the mail only to find my purchase stuffed inside a box with tons of padding/bubble wrap on the top and sides, and NOTHING on the bottom.  Don't shippers realize an impact can happen on any side of a box, not just the top?  These boxes are going to travel thousands of miles, perhaps even overseas.  There's no guarantee they aren't going to take a tumble, fall off a conveyor belt, or carelessly tossed into a delivery van.

Shippers should first pad the bottom of the shipping box, then put in the purchase before adding more padding to fill up the box.  SURROUND the product with cushioning, not just some of the sides.

Thoughts?

I’ve received way too many engines with the baseplate sitting at the very bottom of the box 😡 there should be 2”-4” of packing material all the way around the engine and you should be able to shake the sealed box with nothing moving inside.

Agreed.

Yes, very annoying, irritating, and abrasive to our good common sense.

Packing fragile items with no protection on the bottom is 2 times dumber than stupid.
