PM Rsearch #3 engine and #1 boiler first run together
« on: February 01, 2025, 03:25:56 pm »
This is the first steamup video of my PM Research #1 boiler and #3 engine.
The arrangement is temporary as I also want to try my PM #7 with this boiler.

The PM #3 came as a kit and was fairly straightforward to build.  The #1 boiler
came to me with a #1 engine that was a bit too 'steam-thirsty' and only gave
short runs.  This #3 engine and the #7 are more suited to this boiler.

On other news...my wife just retired after 31 years with the NYS Civil Court.
I've been retired for a while, used to doing daytime stuff, chores and hobbies,
as I saw fit.  We are currently in the 'Figuring this out' phase.  Hmmmm.

Happy steamer,
Wayne

That was interesting watching this Wayne.
I've hankered after a PMR vertical boiler for awhile.
Did you build this from a kit?

Thanks for the comment.  PM really does have a nice selection
to warm a steamers heart.

The boiler came assembled with a #1 engine and ram-pump.  Nice
engine but too much for the boiler.  Now, I need to try it with
the #7 engine.  Here is a video with the #1 engine running.

Thanks,
Wayne
