Recent Additions to The Office of Steam -- Catching Up

First up is this nice Fleischmann and some Wilesco and Tekno accessories.

It isn't that I collect Fleischmann's but rather who this one came from and it's family history.

I was honored when Don Sadler, a true master machinist and model engine builder, offered me a chance to acquire this steam engine and accessories that his father originally purchased for him and his brother to play with.

Looks like a 122-4, and a very nice one at that!!!

Congratulations Gil .... I've always considered Fleischmann's to be the last vestiges of the great Old German Bavarian Heritage.

Not certain, but probably early 1950's. Markings on the underside could help in that determination as related to the divisions and nomenclature used to describe post war Germany in the early cold war era.

Next up is an amazing 2" scale Shand Mason Steam Fire Pumper Engine.

Don Favell built this over the 6 years that include 1984-1989.

I haven't even had time to clean and polish this one yet.
