Round magnet Jensen model 10
« on: January 23, 2021, 10:06:05 pm »
Has anyone else seen a round magnet model 10 Jensen that the inside of flywheel is painted red like the magnet? I have one that is, don’t know if it's original or someone painted it. If someone did paint it, it was done years ago. I also have a model 20 from around same year as this one. It also has the inside of flywheel painted red. I'm not sure about it either. It's the same way if someone painted it, it was done years ago.

The #20 looks like a factory paint job.
The 1951 #10 flywheel paint looks like an owner's work.
It is too much work to paint just the narrow center between the spokes.
Jensen painted their flywheels with a brush as quickly as possible with minimal work.
Could someone have taken a factory painted flywheel and stripped off the inside face on both sides? I suppose it's possible.
(I know this answer does not clear things up in a completely definitive manner)

Thanks Gil. I'm not sure on either one if it's factory or not. Was just curious if anyone had seen or had one like it. It could have been done by someone just thought if there was more like it, it maybe factory. It's kinda like the big power plant I have. I thought the armature had been rewound by someone because of the way it looked, but found out it was factory done when other people had engines just like it.

Nothing special, just a 5 and a 70 purchased as donors.
Still it surprised me to find them, and even more so that i´d completely forgotten i had them.

Guess that what real life can do to you, if you spend way too much time at work  8)

...and to keep on track.
Just checked here, and none of my matching engines has that flywheel either.
Cheers
