Stuart Beam Engine on TV Ad.....
« on: July 27, 2022, 09:55:29 pm »
"Forge of Empires" is a video game that involves creating infrastructure and "cities", I know nothing more about it, but a recent TV ad includes a very brief bit that shows what looks to me to clearly be a Stuart beam engine. The engine is shown running (or at least turning) for about 2-3 seconds, I don't know if it is the smaller or larger version. Anyway, maybe some other members here have seen it? I am guessing that there must be a model steam enthusiast in the mix there somewhere (the entire ad can be found on the web)!

I have seen this game - it is the small Beam engine that is shown.
Very nice, Arnold :D

Thanks to all for the comments. It is at least a tiny but notable bit of model steam trivia.

Also makes me wonder if there were ever any TV ads for model steam engines?? If such ads ever existed, I would guess that they probably came from one or more of the "big three" - Jensen, Mamod. or Wilesco. And at Christmas time, and probably from the 1960s. But it seems unlikely that such a thing would have ever occurred, as the overall market base for model steam engines was probably never large enough to support something as costly as TV advertising!
